Thump Thump (Yet Another Poem)

Yeah, I know, poetry's pretty much the only thing I've posted on here, but oh well.  Here's another poem.  I wrote this a while back, but anyway...

Thump Thump
My heart pounds
I see him there
I can't look away
Eye contact
A quick smile
A jolt through my whole being
Thump Thump
Look away
I can't resist
Glance back
He's not looking
Deep breath
Thump thump

Do Not Assign Busywork To Your Class (A Poem/ Rant)

This was an english assignment.  It's supposed to be a parody of "Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night" by Dylan Thomas.  We had to pick a topic to rant about, and I thought it would be ironic to rant about busywork in an assignment that is just busywork.  This has nothing to do with anything we've been doing in class.  Well, anyway, here it is...

Do Not Assign Busywork To Your Class

Do not assign busywork to your class

If there’s a purpose, I fail to see

Assignments lurking like snakes in the grass

Oh, the stress, it feels like shattered glass

Soon it will be summer and we’ll be free

Assignments lurking like snakes in the grass

In my backpack, all these papers amass

Almost graduation when all will flee

Assignments lurking like snakes in the grass

Soon all this will dissipate just like gas

With frustration I scream like a banshee

Assignments lurking like snakes in the grass

Very often I wish I could just pass

Unfortunately, that just cannot be

Assignments lurking like snakes in the grass

Finally exhausted is this poor lass

So, in closing I shall firmly decree

Do not assign busywork to your class

Why Did I Make This?

I love how I get all exited about creating a blog, and then do nothing with it.  A few months ago, I was all "Oh, I should make a blog! I have so many opinions on so many things.  It'd be a nice outlet for my thoughts.... blah blah blah...."  Yeah... I posted like two things and then forgot about it.  Well, I intend to change that!  I'm writing this in the middle of the night (avoiding homework), so I don't really have time right now, but soon I'll start actually posting things!  Stay tuned...

Who Am I? (A poem)

Who am I?  I wish I knew

Things were easier before I grew

Before my complicated mind

Left all I thought I knew behind

Things are different now, I see

Still the only thing that’s changed is me

Nostalgia grips me every now and again

Viewing the present with only disdain

Sometimes I miss not having a care

The wind blowing through my golden hair

But those days have long since past

How did seventeen years fly by so fast?

Now I brace myself to face what’s ahead

With maybe a small hint of dread

I embrace the future knowing, what will be will be

For I know whatever happens, I will still be me

Jumping on the Bandwagon

Ok, so I guess I'm kinda a few years behind the blogging craze, but I finally gave in and decided to make one.  I mean, I have one already from about a year ago about books, but I wanted to share my thoughts and opinions with the world.  Let's see if anyone actually reads it...
